Weekly Women Wednesday Vol. IX - Bantug

I had the pleasure of seeing Amanda Bantug, known as Bantug, perform in the spring of 2018. Immediately, I was drawn by her unique sound and presence; it keeps you nodding your head to the beat, even when you’re only hearing the song for the first time. I could feel myself comfortable with the music- not in a boring or predictable way (at all)- but in an assuring hug, wrapping me in the rhythm and Amanda’s dreamy vocals. The drums keep your heart pumping, but still keeping you focused on her words and her stories. I already couldn’t wait to get home and listen to her music and learn every word, every beat, every snap. ‘Get Out’ in particular, I kept coming back to. The snapping sounds in the background makes me dance, even when I’m on the train or walking on a busy street- I can’t help myself.

Bantug originates from Atlanta, but has made major waves where she's currently based, in Nashville. We are so excited to see what Bantug has to bring to the table in 2019, and beyond. Check out her EP, ‘Red’ on all platforms.

Check out her Website, Instagram, and Twitter. Also see her in Nashville on 1/26 at The Basement!
